|Vipers Presentation day|
After what has been a particularly difficult football season given the weather throughout the winter and the fact that most of our teams are forced due to lack of pitches to play matches on the Spierbridge recreation ground, the season draws to a close and we have team presentations to do.
These will be held at the Football Club on Saturday 21st May starting at 3pm, It is likely that at least one of the teams will do their presentations on a separate date due to holidays so please ask your team's manager when your team is being presented with their trophies for the season.|
|Vipers in action again|
|How pleasing it was to see Vipers in action on the rec again last week for the first football there since October, the weather gods have been really unkind to us all once again, with the current season being the worst one that I can remember for waterlogged fields.
Lets hope that the worst is now behind us and we can catch up a bit before the end of the season. Good luck to one and all in the coming weeks.|

|Winter Blues ! Dec 12th 2015
Another Saturday and more games off due to waterlogged pitches !, it seems like an eternity now, its been so long that many of our teams have not been able to play due to the weather gods conspiring against us. Frustration abounds in players, managers, coaches and parents. The powers that be want all our kids playing more sport and to get fitter, but less and less is done to provide the facilities that grass roots football needs, What is the answer,? 3G maybe, better drained grass pitches certainly, Indoor facilities too perhaps but whatever it is our club and many others like it in the Horsham district need support from local and district councils to help us get these facilities. In 2014 HDC produced a document stating that Storrington should have a 3G pitch, lets hope we can all work together and get this done. All we want is to play football.|
|Weather means cancellations abound !!|
|It seems that the weather gods are being very unkind to us of late with a plethora of matches U8, Under 9, Under 11, Under 12, and Under 14 games all being called off in recent weeks.
With the pressure to keep the rec playable this is especially problematic.
Hopefully the rain will ease and we can get some games done before too long.|
|Another Busy day on the rec|
|Another great morning on the rec , with the Under 9's, and Under 11's in action. and the Under 8's working hard in a training session with Jon and Aaron.
I am pleased to say wins all round with the under 9's winning their two games three nil and seven two, and the under 11's running out five one winners.
bacon Butties, tea, coffee and refreshments seemed to be going down well and yet more comments from passers by saying how great to see so many youngsters playing organised football.|
|Saturday 27th September|
|Yet another very busy morning on the rec with four (yes four) Vipers teams in action, Under 8, Under 9's, Under 11 and Under 12. What a sight, the busiest the rec has been in years I reckon.
Under 9 and 8 mums did bacon butties for everyone, sadly we couldn't do teas as there was a "cock up" on the kitchen door key front, (don't blame the chairman please), we will sort this for next time.
Well done to all Vipers teams on your results good or bad this week.|
|A BUSY REC|
Saturday 19th Spierbridge rec - what a sight to see, three Vipers teams in action, Under 8, Under 9 and Under 11, three opposing teams visiting and refreshments available to all.
Passers by saying how great to see so many lads and lassies out playing football. The Vipers are growing again and football at all levels in Storrington is alive and kicking !.
Well done to all the managers, coaches and helpers, mums, dads, granddad's grandmas' and everyone for the help and support.

|Under 14 Team Success 2014|
|Big congratulations to coach Adam Hartley and his under 14 team, their league record this season reads played 16, won 15, drawn 1, lost 0, they topped their league by a clear ten points and in addition reached the under 14 cup final played at Broadbridge Heath recently, sadly that went against them by a narrow two nil, but I believe that everyone enjoyed their cup run and final day. Well done one and all, see you at the presentation Evening.|
